FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about reserving and raising your mini dachshund.
Adoption & Deposits
How do I reserve a puppy?
Browse our available puppies and submit a puppy application. Once we review your application and approve it, we’ll contact you to discuss the next steps. A $400 deposit secures your puppy and is applied toward the purchase price.
Is the deposit refundable?
Deposits are non-refundable once a puppy is reserved for you. However, if we are unable to fulfill your reservation for any reason on our end, your deposit will be returned in full.
Can I visit or meet the puppy before reserving?
We are a home-based breeder, so in-person visits are limited. We are happy to schedule video calls so you can meet your puppy live. We also send regular photo and video updates throughout the process.
Pricing & Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Apple Pay, Chime, and Zelle. A $400 deposit is due at the time of reservation, and the remaining balance is due on or before go-home day.
What is included in the price?
Every puppy comes home with a veterinary health check, age-appropriate vaccinations, a deworming schedule, a microchip, a puppy starter kit, full health records, and lifetime breeder support. AKC registration paperwork is also included.
Health & Vet Care
Do your puppies come with a health guarantee?
Yes. Every puppy comes with a written health guarantee. Please see our Health Guarantee page for full details.
What vaccinations will my puppy have?
Puppies receive their first vaccination (typically a DHPP combination) and deworming treatment before going home. Full vaccination records are included in your puppy’s take-home kit. Your vet will advise on the continuing schedule.
Delivery & Pickup
Do you deliver puppies?
Yes. We offer pickup at our location, ground transport, and flight nanny service where a professional hand-carries your puppy in the cabin to your nearest airport. Delivery fees vary by method and distance.
At what age do puppies go home?
Puppies go home at 8 weeks of age or older. This ensures they are fully weaned, socialized, and have had their first vet check, vaccinations, and microchip.
Mini Dachshund Care
How big do miniature dachshunds get?
Miniature dachshunds typically weigh between 8 and 11 pounds and stand 5 to 6 inches tall. Our breeding lines generally produce puppies in the 9 to 12 pound adult range.
How do I protect my dachshund’s back?
Dachshunds have long spines that can be prone to intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). Use ramps or steps instead of letting them jump on and off furniture, keep them at a healthy weight, and avoid rough play that stresses the back. Regular gentle exercise and vet check-ups are key.
Are mini dachshunds good with children and other pets?
Yes, when properly socialized. Our puppies are raised around family life from birth. Mini dachshunds are loyal, playful, and affectionate with their families, and they generally do well with children and other pets when introduced carefully.
